In order to evaluate the success of the implementation of the ELMO the technology team will need to determine if the goal of the team has been met. The primary goal was to increase student achievement as a result of use of the ELMO. In addition, the technology team would like to the staff as a whole to use the ELMO on a regular basis. “Regular basis” is not defined, however, the team would like teachers to use their ELMO units a minimum of 2 days for week. How will this be measured? The success of the ELMO implementation will primarily be measured by test scores. The Administrative Staff and Technology Team will meet and review the school’s progress towards AYP each year. This will be measured based on the following goals:
Year 1: § Special Education Cell: Increase in AYP by at least 5% in both Math and ELA
Year 2: § Math: Increase in AYP of at least 5% § ELA: Increase in AYP of at least 5% § Special Education Cell: Increase in AYP by at least 5%
Year 3: § Science: Increase in AYP of at least 5% § Social Studies: Increase in AYP of at least 5% § Math: Increase in AYP of at least 5% § ELA: Increase in AYP of at least 5% § Special Education Cell: Increase in AYP by at least 5%
Year 4: § Science: Increase in AYP of at least 5% § Social Studies: Increase in AYP of at least 5% § Math: Increase in AYP of at least 5% § ELA: Increase in AYP of at least 5% § Special Education Cell: Increase in AYP by at least 5%
The goal is to be meeting or exceeding AYP by the end of the 4th year of implementation by gradual increase in AYP of a minimum of 5%. In addition to the measurement of AYP, the administration will keep records of how many observations (announced and unannounced) included the use of the ELMO. Finally, the Technology Team will survey both staff and students regarding use of the ELMO to determine how often it is being used and whether or not the students and staff have observed a positive change as a result of implementation.
